Hyundai to Deploy Atlas Humanoid Robots for Factory Part Sorting
At the 2026 Consumer Electronics Show (CES 2026), South Korea's Hyundai Motor Group announced plans to deploy humanoid robots Atlas at its factory in Georgia, USA, starting from 2028.

The company stated that these robots will initially perform part sorting tasks in 2028, with their application scope to be gradually expanded as safety and quality benefits are verified. By 2030, the Atlas robots are expected to enter the field of component assembly, and a long-term plan has been formulated to undertake tasks involving heavy loads, repetitive movements, and complex operations across production sites. Designed to reduce physical strain on workers by handling high-risk and repetitive tasks, these robots lay the foundation for broader commercial applications in industrial environments.
Equipped with tactile sensing capabilities in their hands, Atlas robots can lift weights of up to 50 kilograms (110 pounds). They can operate autonomously and are designed to work in industrial environments ranging from -20 degrees Celsius to 40 degrees Celsius.
