Pony.ai and Uber have announced an expanded strategic partnership to deploy more than 2,000 Pony.ai robotaxis across five European cities, marking a milestone that brings Europe’s autonomous driving industry into the thousand-vehicle scale. Building on Pony.ai’s existing commercial robotaxi operation in Zagreb, Croatia, the service will soon be available on the Uber app, with rollout plans for other cities to be announced in phases. The two parties will also deepen cooperation in the Middle East. This is a landmark breakthrough for Pony.ai’s “co-built fleet” model overseas. By partnering with local mobility and fleet operators, the company exports its vehicles, technology and operational capabilities to global markets in a win-win model, supporting its globalization strategy.
