BYD Rolls Out 150,000th NE Commercial Vehicle, Targets Heavy-Duty Trucks
BYD officially announced that its 150,000th new energy commercial vehicle, the Q3 all-electric tractor, rolled off the production line at BYD Truck Smart Factory in Huai’an. The 150,000-unit milestone serves as a new starting point for BYD’s commercial vehicle division, which will continue to focus on the long-haul heavy-duty truck market to advance green logistics. While BYD is widely known for its passenger vehicles, it has been building its presence in the commercial vehicle sector for years with a steady, methodical approach.

BYD entered the commercial vehicle market with city buses, gradually gaining traction through technological breakthroughs and operational experience. After launching truck R&D in 2012, it extended its R&D, manufacturing and service capabilities to logistics and transportation, now boasting a product matrix covering both battery-electric and hybrid powertrains as well as light and heavy-duty trucks. In 2025, the 10,000th light-duty truck T5 rolled off the line and the pickup truck T4 launched globally, further covering urban distribution, cold chain and other scenarios. From buses to urban distribution and now long-haul heavy trucks, BYD’s commercial vehicle strategy follows a clear path: capturing each segment step by step with technology.
