GAC’s Cambodian CKD Plant Goes Operational for Local Assembly
GAC Group’s CKD assembly plant in Cambodia commenced production on September 17. This milestone shifts GAC’s local business model from complete‑vehicle import to domestic assembly, representing another fruitful achievement of China‑Cambodia economic and trade cooperation.

The CKD project was initiated in 2024. After joint efforts in construction and commissioning, the facility has reached production readiness. THG undertakes plant investment and physical assembly work, while GAC supplies vehicle kits, technical standards and comprehensive technical support. Planned annual capacity stands at 10,000 units, with models including Ying su, Ying ku, GS8 and GN8 scheduled for assembly. The CKD approach helps adapt to local tariff policies and lowers end‑consumer purchase costs. GAC consolidates its Southeast‑Asia manufacturing footprint via technology transfer to broaden its overseas market reach.
