Progress in China-EU Electric Vehicle Dispute Talks, EU to Issue Price Undertaking Guidelines
To implement the consensus reached by Chinese and EU leaders and properly resolve the EU's anti-subsidy investigation into Chinese electric vehicles, China and the EU have conducted multiple rounds of pragmatic consultations based on mutual respect. Both sides agree that it is necessary to provide general guidance on price undertakings to Chinese exporters of pure electric vehicles to the EU, enabling them to address relevant concerns in a more practical, targeted manner that complies with WTO rules.

In this regard, the EU will issue the "Guidelines for Submitting Price Undertaking Applications". The document confirms that the EU will adhere to the principle of non-discrimination, apply the same legal standards to each price undertaking application in accordance with WTO rules, and conduct evaluations in an objective and fair manner. This outcome demonstrates the spirit of dialogue and results of consultations between China and the EU. Both sides have the ability and willingness to properly resolve differences through dialogue and consultations within the framework of WTO rules, safeguard the stability of the China-EU and global automotive industrial and supply chains, and contribute to the healthy development of China-EU economic and trade relations as well as the maintenance of a rules-based international trade order.
