Audi and SAIC Motor recently officially signed a strategic cooperation agreement. The two parties will further deepen cooperation in vehicle R&D, establish a new Audi Innovation Technology Center in Shanghai, and jointly develop four future Audi models based on the next-generation intelligent digital platform. Among the first-generation mass-produced models of the two parties’ cooperation, the Audi E5 Sportback was launched in 2025, the first SUV model Audi E7X will make its debut at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show, and the third model is scheduled to launch in 2027.

The all-new Audi Innovation Technology Center will be led by Audi AG, focusing on R&D of intelligent electrification technologies and full-value-chain development of intelligent connected vehicles. Relying on the next-generation intelligent digital platform dedicated to future intelligent connected vehicles, the two parties will build a brand-new product matrix to supplement Audi’s existing product lineup in China. This cooperation will not only accelerate Audi’s electrification transformation in China, but also promote SAIC Motor’s technological accumulation and brand upgrading in the high-end intelligent electric vehicle sector.
