FREELANDER has officially revealed the official images of its first mass-produced model, naming it the FREELANDER 8, a premium tech-focused all-terrain SUV. Per the brand’s official roadmap, FREELANDER will launch six blockbuster models over the next five years, with the FREELANDER 8 making its China debut in the second half of this year, followed by a global rollout of the overseas version. As the brand’s inaugural offering, the model largely retains the design language of the CONCEPT 97 concept car, preserving FREELANDER’s iconic boxy silhouette. It features a closed-off front fascia, rectangular block-shaped headlights for a rugged off-road vibe, crisp and tough body lines along the side, stylish dynamic alloy wheels, and a standard roof rack.

For the interior, as seen in the previously released concept car video, the model adopts a minimalist design philosophy. The dashboard is equipped with a large floating central control screen and a full-width digital display. The center armrest area integrates wireless smartphone charging, with a hollowed-out lower section to boost space utilization. The rear seats also offer multiple flexible configurations to balance practicality and comfort. Technically, the FREELANDER 8 debuts the brand’s all-new iMax platform architecture, compatible with pure electric, range-extended, and plug-in hybrid powertrains. The China-market version will come standard with an 800V high-voltage range-extended platform. In deep partnership with CATL and Qualcomm Snapdragon, the model will be among the first in the world to feature the Snapdragon 8397 chip, paired with a custom all-terrain hybrid battery co-developed with CATL, delivering a 6C peak rate and 350kW peak charging power.
