NIO announced the full opening of its Hexi Corridor battery swap route along the Silk Road on May 10. Stretching 1,739 km from Xi’an to Dunhuang, the route features 20 battery swap stations. As of May 9, NIO operates 8,853 charging and swap stations nationwide, including 3,841 swap stations.

During the May 1–5 holiday, NIO’s highway charging and swapping volume exceeded 15.43 million kWh, accounting for 16.3% of the national total. On May 1 alone, 170,585 swaps were completed, averaging one swap every 0.51 seconds, making recharging as convenient as refueling.
