On June 25, Porsche officially took the wraps off the 911 GT4 R, marking the first time the brand has extended its iconic 911 range into the GT4 customer racing category. The car will begin competing in GT4 series worldwide from the 2027 season. For Porsche’s customer racing portfolio, this fills a long-awaited gap. Previously, no 911-derived model was available for the GT4 class; now customer teams and drivers who favor the 911 platform have a dedicated new option, expanding the model’s motorsport footprint.

Built on the 911 Cup body structure, the new model receives comprehensive lightweighting and aerodynamic refinement. The multi-adjustable rear wing supports 11 manual angle settings, balancing high-speed stability and corner agility to suit different circuits. The race-specific chassis features double-adjustable dampers with three spring rate options, giving teams extensive tuning flexibility for different track surfaces and driving styles. Power comes from a 4.0-liter six-cylinder boxer engine producing 520 PS and 470 N·m of peak torque, paired with a six-speed sequential dog-box transmission built to withstand the rigors of GT4 competition.
